Midrand Montessori High is a registered IEB school and writes the IEB examinations. The IEB is not a curriculum, it is an examination board. Visit their website for more detailed information and a list of all the tertiary institutions overseas that recognise the IEB National Senior Certificate (NSC).
For a private school to write the grade 12 National Senior Certificate (NSC), the school needs to be accredited by Umalusi so that it can apply to be an examination venue. Being a registered school with the GDE does not automatically make a school an examination venue. The Umalusi accreditation process is very costly and laborious, but it does ensure a minimum standard for schools and service delivery.
